2021 Review – Eastern Pennine
As we prepare for the 2022 season, our Clubs take a look back at their 2021 successes! The small but mighty Eastern Pennine Polocrosse Club, based in the East, tell us all about their 2021:
Eastern Pennine remains a very small club with only 3 of us on the team – what we lack in numbers we certainly try to make up for with enthusiasm! Being such a small club and particularly in Covid-restricted times, we struggled to provide table and goal judges and we wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us.

In 2021, we managed four amazing tournaments hosted by Yorkshire, UKPA, Arden and of course Nationals despite only having one playing horse between us, something we are currently addressing! To enable us to play, we relied on being able to hire so thanks to Gill James for all her help.

The highlight of our season was Nationals where unfortunately Gill was fully booked and we were one horse down in the run up. We decided that we would play come what may, even if it meant playing one person down!
In an amazing twist of fate, and demonstrating most if not all of the Polocrosse core values, Area 2’s Ama Mason (and her lovely mum) loaned us Annie who Steve gamely rode. Not only did Ama’s family loan us, travel and care for Annie, they also watched and supported all our matches including our eventual win in Lower D! Everything about this story was amazing, and for us, makes Polocrosse the sport we love so much.
Bring on 2022!!!
